Neuro Heroes is helping to remove the financial or psychological barrier to physical activity by subsidising six classes for people with Parkinson’s who would otherwise be unable to join.

Goals of the Community Exercise Fund

Through the Neuro Heroes Community Exercise Fund we have 2 goals

1) To reach underserved communities who haven’t had the opportunity to access the physiotherapy or condition specific exercise they need. This may include people who are financially struggling, those who are isolated and have a lack of local services or those from cultural backgrounds where access to exercise is more difficult.

2) Get people who are Inactive ACTIVE and Empower them to stay active.

We know that being active can have a positive impact on an individuals mental and physical wellbeing. We want to support people to better manage their symptoms and feel good.

When people from the Parkinson's community come to our sessions, they not only feel the physical benefits like improved mobility, balance and strength, but also less fatigue, more confidence and a significant uplift in mood.

Ways to support the fund

Fundraising for the Neuro Heroes Community Exercise Fund is a great way to make a big difference for your friends and peers in the Parkinson’s community.

We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and different ways to engage with the Parkinson's community. If you have a creative proposal and would like to support the fund, please email us at helloneuroheroes@gmail.com.

As with many community projects, our subsidised classes simply couldn’t happen without the financial backing of our amazing supporters!

The more people with Parkinson’s who can experience the benefits of exercise, the better!

Thank you!

It all began with an idea, just a small one. We wanted to provide physio and support to get as many people as possible exercising in the right way. And now here we are, slowly achieving this dream! It is very exciting and we are so grateful to all our Heroes for supporting us along the way.

We want to say a special thank you to Parkinson's UK for their support with the Neuro Heroes Community Exercise Fund and to everyone who has contributed to make this project a reality.
